Armed man hijacks bus with hostages in Lutsk

According to preliminary data, 20 people are being held hostage in the hijacked bus in Lutsk. This was reported by the communication department of the Main Department of the National Police in the Volyn region, RBC-Ukraine reports.

"He (the hijacker, - 112 International.) was speaking about some requirements, communicating through social networks. We are monitoring his account on social media. This is the information that we have so far. It is not known yet what kind of weapon he possesses, but he is armed, that is a fact,” the message reads.

As we reported earlier, the police closed the city center of Lutsk off and introduced an operational plan "Hostage."

It is now known that the man has already set out his conditions. Negotiations are underway. According to the police, the man constantly writes about "dissatisfaction with the system in Ukraine" on his social media.

"Lutsk. A man has hijacked a bus with hostages in the center of the city, he possesses explosives and weapons. An operational plan ‘Hostage’ has been introduced in the region. The territory of the city center is blocked to ensure the safety of citizens. All police services are currently working in the city," the statement said.
