Lukashenko announces joint exercises with Russia near Ukrainian border

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has stated that Belarusian and Russian servicemen will soon hold exercises on the republic's border with Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.

"We have agreed with President Putin that in the near future we should hold joint exercises on the southern borders, the Belarusian-Ukrainian border," Lukashenko said.

According to him, these exercises will take place "somewhere in two stages in the next few months."

"We are still making these plans, but we will definitely hold the first stage in the winter," he said.

As it was reported, on November 27 the Ukrainian frontier guards in the Chernihiv area carried out joint staff training with attraction of reserves within the limits of special operation "Polissya".
