Part of Luhansk and some of the adjacent towns and villages are cut off from water supply system for debts. This was mentioned in the message of Luhansk Energy Union at Facebook.
‘On January 30, at 11.08 a.m., the Union shut down Petrivska water pumping station of Popasna water service company, which supplies the water to half million residents of Luhansk and several adjacent towns and villages,’ reads the message.
The reason for such action is the debt of the company before the union, which currently makes roughly six million dollars. ‘The debt is due to the debts of the local administration since 90 percent of the produced water reach the territory temporarily non-controlled by the Ukrainian government. In December 2017, the company paid only for the half of the consumed energy,’ the Union said.
