Ukraine's Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov is convinced that the quarantine restrictions introduced by Ukrainian government, including weekend quarantine, are giving positive results. The minister announced this during a briefing on Saturday, December 5.
At the same time, Stepanov noted that the government did not get the maximum result from the restrictions imposed, but the country managed to stop the hurricane spread of the infection.
Stepanov also stressed that Ukraine has one of the lowest mortality rates from Covid-19 among European countries - 1.7%.
"This is the main result. We saved the lives of at least 42 people," he said.
As we reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky said that full lockdown wouldn't be intruduced in December.
President of Ukraine added that now the situation is under control and does not require the immediate introduction of a full lockdown.
In addition, he noted that the weekend quarantine gave its results, and the daily number of people infected with coronavirus has ceased to grow rapidly.
