“Deciding to provide the vaccine to the countries of the European Partnership in May, the government confirmed on Wednesday that 131,000 doses of the vaccine produced by AstraZeneca were passed to Ukraine – by 31,000 doses more than it was discussed earlier,” the message says.
Besides, Lithuania will present the vaccines to Moldova and Armenia. Moldova will get twice more doses than it was discussed – 26,500. Armenia will get 27,500 doses.
Health Minister of Lithuania Arūnas Dulkys also confirmed that other vaccines can be passed; however, the issue is not agreed with the producers.
Lithuania presents the vaccines at the request of other states. Totally, the country plans to allocate 200,000 doses of the vaccines against coronavirus to the countries of the Eastern Partnership.
Currently, Lithuania suffers from the inflow of migrants from Belarus. Ukraine will pass humanitarian aid to Lithuania in the form of barbed wire to equip the Belarus-Lithuania border.
