List of professions for compulsory vaccination in Ukraine to increase on November 9

Workers who are not vaccinated against Covid-19 during this period will be fired without pay

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine (MOH) has expanded the list of occupations for which vaccination against Covid-19 is mandatory, the press service of the Ministry of Healthcare reports.

The order enters into force on December 9, 2021.

Mandatory vaccination is introduced for the following:

- employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations belonging to the sphere of management of central executive bodies;

- employees of institutions and establishments providing social services, establishments of social protection for children, rehabilitation establishments;

- employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations included in the List of objects of state property that are of strategic importance for the economy and security of the state ("Ukrposhta", "Ukrzaliznytsia" and others).

"Employees of the above institutions who are not vaccinated against Covid-19 during this period will be fired without pay. Those who have absolute contraindications to vaccinations, which are determined in accordance with the instructions for vaccines, decisions of the National Technical Group of Experts on Immunoprophylaxis, the List of medical contraindications and warnings for preventive vaccinations, approved by the Ministry of Health from 16.09.2011 № 595 , will not be subject to obligatory vaccination," the message reads.

As it was reported, all unvaccinated officials and teachers will be suspended from work from November 8. It does not apply to people who have absolute contraindications for preventive vaccinations against Covid-19 and received a medical opinion on the presence of contraindications for vaccination against Covid-19 issued by a healthcare institution.

In October, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure for the removal of unvaccinated employees of enterprises, institutions, and organizations subject to mandatory vaccination against coronavirus.

At the same time, sick leave benefits are not provided to employees who have been fired for refusing or evading compulsory preventive vaccination against acute respiratory illness Covid-19.
