Libyan military captured Ukrainian vessel on suspicion of oil smuggling

Navy of Libya captured two vessels on suspicion of oil smuggling from North African country. Ukrainian tanker Ruta is one of them, Reuters reported.

According to Ayoub Qassem, a spokesman for the Libyan naval forces, second captured vessel called Stark was going under unspecified African nation's flag.

Tankers were captured after three hours of gun battles in the west of Tripoli, agency informs.

Qassem did not provide any details about detentions or losses, beyond that, it is unknown who was aboard of seized vessels and what happened to the crew members.
