Libyan court arrested 14 Ukrainians from "Ruta" vessel for oil smuggling

Court of Libyan capital Tripoli has arrested 14 citizens of Ukraine, who were crew members of "Ruta" tanker, earlier detained by the country’s coastguard. This was reported by Libya Akhbar local agency referring to the Libyan Navy General.

According to him, two tankers were captured after three-hour shooting and taken with crew members to Tripoli, where they were brought to justice.

"Among them were 14 Ukrainians from "Ruta", four Turkish and two Georgian citizens, who were on the second vessel "Stark".

Earlier it was reported that Libyan Navy captured two vessels on suspicion of oil smuggling from North African country.
