It is worth noting that the explosive substance was brought to the city port on a Russian cargo ship under the flag of Moldova in 2013.

As we reported before, on August 4, the video of explosions in Beirut, the capital and the largest city of Lebanon, appeared on social media. The media reported that the number of deceased is at least 159 people, about 6,000 people wounded. The city's surroundings turned into ruins.

Later, the mass protests started in the city. On August 9, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab, under protesters' pressure, agreed to hold early elections in the country.

Also, another large shipment of ammonium nitrate was found in Lebanon's capital. The army engineers detected chemicals near the ninth entrance to the seaport
