In Ukraine, a law on the holiday day off on December 25 in connection with the Christmas according to Gregorian calendar came into effect. Yesterday the document was published in the official newspaper "The Voice of Ukraine".

The law provides a day-off on December 25.

Meanwhile, the day of on Labor Day will become only May 1, the next day will be a working day.

We recall, the Verkhovna Rada adopted such a decision on November 16, with 238 votes.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov congratulated people of Ukraine with Christmas on December 25 before the New Year for the first time in the history of the independent Ukraine.
