State Border Service, the Security Service and the prosecutor's office abolished the channel of illegal smuggled persons in the Russian Federation through the occupied Crimea. This was announced by Chairman of the State Border Service Assistant Oleh Slobodyan during the press conference on December 15.
According to him, yesterday they held activities to document actions of the violators who have established a channel of illegal smuggled persons (from) the Russian Federation through the occupied Crimea in KPVV Chaplynka with bus passenger transport.
On this fact have been opened the criminal proceedings under Part 3 Art. 332 (illegal convey of persons across the state border of Ukraine, committed by an organized group or committed for mercenary motives) and Part 1 Art. 332-1 (violation of the order of entry into the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and out of it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Slobodyan noted that "the drivers announced bus transportation from the mainland of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Crimea and then in Russia, particularly to Krasnodar, through closed Ukrainian government checkpoints. They let passengers out of the bus far from the checkpoint, after what they walk through the administrative border by foot, and boarded another bus on the occupied peninsula.
"As a result of events that took place simultaneously in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions, vehicles, by which the shipment were conducted, are detained. Investigative actions are carried out in relation to the persons involved in the persons’ transporting operations", said Oleg Slobodyan.
