Latvian citizen died in car accident in Cherkasy region

In Cherkasy region, a citizen of Latvia died in the car accident at Kyiv-Odesa highway as the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.

The accident took place in Nesterivka village on August 27. According to the information, two cars: BMW and heavy vehicle MAN collided.

"In the result of the collision, a passenger of one of the cars, BMW, a citizen of Latvia died at the site and the driver was urgently hospitalized to Mankiv Central Regional Hospital with the injuries of varying degrees of severity as soon as he was provided the emergency care," the message said.

At the site, the on-call sentries of the firefighting and rescue units worked that de-blocked the body of the victim from the damaged car and prevented the ignition of the spilled fuel.

Earlier a car accident took place in Luhansk region, as a result of which, an 18-year-old passenger died at the scene, the 17-year-old and three girls at the age of 17-18 were injured.

Also, a Ukrainian bus with tourists had an accident in Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Poland on August 17. As a result of the accident, three people deceased, and 51 are injured. The Ukrainian Consul urgently headed out to the scene.
