Large shipment of ammonium nitrate found in destroyed Beirut

In Beirut, the Lebanese capital, where a massive explosion took place a month ago, another large shipment of ammonium nitrate was found as Reuters reported.

The army engineers detected chemicals near the ninth entrance to the seaport. The volume of the found shipment exceeded the number of ammonium nitrate that caused the explosion in August – 4.35 tons.

On August 4, the video of explosions in Beirut, the capital and the largest city of Lebanon, appeared on social media. The media reported that the number of deceased is at least 159 people, about 6,000 people wounded. The city's surroundings turned into ruins.

Later, the mass protests started in the city. On August 9, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab, under protesters' pressure, agreed to hold early elections in the country.

On August 10, the Lebanese government resigned due to the explosion and its consequences.
