A large-scale interregional network of bot-farms with 3,500 accounts worked in Kyiv as the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported.

“Kyiv law enforcers exposed an interregional network of the bot-farms,” the message said.

It is noted that the network of 3,500 bots, located in Kyiv and Zaporizhia region was exposed by law enforcers during the investigation of the criminal proceeding. The organizers of the network managed accounts on social networks, electronic mailboxes and electronic purses with the use of fake personal data. The perpetrators used foreign SIM cards for registration of the accounts.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the accounts were created on order for provocation on the internet of the social conflicts, the spread of false information toward political rivals of the customers, incitement to protests and so on.

The law enforcers held searches at the location of equipment, confiscated the technical assistance, over 6,000 SIM cards and other material evidence. Moreover, the persons involved in the organization of the activity of the bot-farms are to be established.

As we reported, the criminal activity of 25 people was confirmed in the leak of personal information of citizens from the anonymous Telegram-channel. One man was detained.
