Ukraine is ready to send about 200 specially trained rescuers of the State Emergency Service to fire-englufed Australia. The Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced this on his Facebook page.
"The fires in Australia did not leave Ukrainians indifferent. We sympathize! ... The Ukrainian side informed Australia that the rescuers were ready to arrive at the scene of the tragedy within 24-36 hours with the necessary equipment on a specially leased long-haul aircraft," Avakov wrote.
The minister said that the decision of the Australian side is now expected.
As we reported, the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia finds out the presence of Ukrainians among those affected by large-scale forest fires on the continent.
