Large hail fell today, on August 5, in the Kamenka-Bugska towm, Lviv region. This is reported by the chairman of the NGO Warta1 Igor Zinkevych on his Facebook page.
He also said that in this part of the region today there was a thunderstorm.
"The route Kyiv - Chop, from the city of Busk in the direction of Lviv, the storm left the branches of the trees on the road. Drivers, be careful!" he wrote.
We recall, on July 25, a powerful rain hit Kyiv. It was accompanied by a thunder and hail. The streets of the capital were flooded, as well as during previous downpours, cars literally drowned in water, which flowed along the streets. It should be noted that the bad weather affected mainly the right-bank part of the city.
Because of the difficulties with the movement of transport, the center of the capital was crammed with large traffic jams.
Germany is overtaken by anomalous heat. In many parts of the country, the temperature is already above +35 degrees by Celsius, Xinhua reports.
The heat has already led to forest fires and lowering the water level in the rivers. In addition, it is expected that the drought will cause a reduction in yields.
The German Meteorological Service confirmed that weather in July of 2018 broke the temperature record and it became the hottest month in Germany since 1881. As for the record of the total duration of sunshine, in July 2018 it was 305 hours, the second place since 1951.
According to forecasts, in August the heat will not recede.
Due to the heat, the water level and, as a consequence, the capacity of the Rhine fairway, as well as the Elbe and Oder, have significantly decreased. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture of Germany already now predicts a reduction in the grain harvest by 7-8 million tons, and the total economic damage is estimated at 1.4 billion euros.
Other countries in Europe are suffering from the heat - for example, in Spain and Portugal, air temperatures are expected to rise to +47, and in France, due to the unusually hot weather, the operation of four power units at nuclear power plants had to be stopped.
