Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Tymofiy Milovanov said that the bill on the land market is likely to be considered in the Rada this week. He said this during a public discussion of land reform, the correspondent of UNN news agency reports.
Answering the question when the bill will be considered in the Rada, Milovanov answered: “Even this week there is a chance that we will hold it.”
According to the chairman of the Committee on Agricultural and Land Policy Mykola Solsky, the committee expects that the bill will be considered in the near future.
“No new problems are expected. All the problems in our country are old ones. All methods in our country are old. Yes, there will be emotions, there will be demagogy and populism. These are all the problems that accompany me in this country from my time of birth,” Solsky said, answering the question of whether problems are expected when considering a draft law on the land market.
As we reported, the comparative table of the amendments for the second reading of the bill #2278-10 on the land sale market was published on the Verkhovna Rada website.
One of the amendments concerns the change of the bill’s name ‘On the amendment to some legislative acts of Ukraine on the terms of the agricultural land turnover’.
The bill allows the foreigners and legal persons, founders and ultimate beneficiaries who are the foreigners to buy the land plots only after the approval at the referendum. It is impossible to acquire the right of ownership in other cases.
The total area of the agricultural land, according to the document, in the ownership of a person cannot surpass 10,000 hectares (earlier 210,000 hectares). The same concerns the legal persons (excluding banks and credit facilities).
