#KyivNotKiev: International Air Transport Association corrects Ukraine's capital writing

It means that almost all world airports and air companies should use the corrected variant

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has switched to writing Kyiv but not Kiev, as it had been earlier. This was reported on the official page of CorrectUA company of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Twitter

"Thanks to all the airports and air companies for KyivnotKiev! Special thanks to IATA for making a decision to use the correct name of the Ukrainian capital as Kyiv. It is an important step, which ended the usage of Kiev name in the international practice," says the message. 

The decision of the air association means that almost all world airports and air companies should use the corrected variant of the name of Ukraine's capital.

As we reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ukraine started the CorrectUA media company to urge the world editions to write Kyiv instead of Kiev. 

The number of world airports switched to the corrected wariant of writing the name of the capital including the airports of Bucharest, Batumi, Tbilisi, Toronto, Tel-Aviv, two international airports of Kazakhstan, Belgian airports as well as the airports in Montenegro and Cairo.
