The first airport for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is expected to appear in Kyiv by 2025. This was announced by the head of the All-Ukrainian Federation of Drone Owners, DJI distributor in Ukraine Taras Troyak, Interfax reports.
"We have a Quadroport project that we want to build in Kyiv. It will be the first drone airport where any type of UAV can be tested ... This is an ambitious project. We expect it to be finished somewhere by 2025. So far, business the component is quite small, but we look at the development and understand that it is a necessary step," Troyak said.
He noted that the market for drones in Ukraine would have reached about 500 million hryvnias (17,6 million dollars) by the end of 2020.
"This year it has grown 2.5 times compared to last year. And next year we already hope that the market will be more than one billion hryvnias," the DJI distributor added.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine and the UK conducted the first stage of the United Efforts 2020 exercise with an airborne assault.
