Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office opens case due to concealing of coronavirus infection case

A Kyiv citizen visited Switzerland recently, passed a test; he had a positive result but the Healthcare Ministry was not informed about it

The Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv initiated the pretrial investigation against the officials of the private medical establishment who did not inform the state bodies of Ukraine about the patient infected with coronavirus as the prosecutor’s office reported.

The office noted that according to the information published by mass media, a Kyiv citizen visited Switzerland recently, passed a test at one of the private medical centers of the capital. The result of the test was positive but the center did not inform the Healthcare Minister and Public Health Center about it.

The criminal proceeding is opened due to the violation of the rules and norms established to prevent the epidemic and infectious diseases, massive non-infectious diseases (poisoning) and fight against them, if such actions led or could lead to the spread of these diseases.

As of March 20, there are 26 cases of coronavirus infection in Ukraine, three of them are lethal.

As we reported, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the Ukrainians to observe the rules of the quarantine and do not go out without the necessity.
