Kyiv police confiscates shipment of cocaine valued at $60 million

The police officers confiscated the shipment of cocaine with a weight of 400 kg, as Ukrainian News reported citing Head of the National Police Serhy Kniazev.

Preliminary, the cost of the confiscated shipment is about $60 million.

Kniazev noted that the drug was confiscated in stages. It was transferred by smuggling from Latin America and had to be transported to the European countries. The law enforcers detained 9 people, the restrictive measure was chosen against six of them.

Earlier Ukraine's State Border Guard managed to shut down the channel of smuggling of cigarettes across the border to Poland.

Moreover, the Ukrainian Security Service (the SBU) employees discovered and blocked the channel of smuggling fuels and lubricants from the territory of the Russian Federation to the Luhansk region. An illegal underground pipeline for pumping diesel fuel was found on Ukraine's state border in the area of one of the villages of Luhansk region.
