Specially for Eurovision Kyiv will host several festivals that will help the guests of the song contest to get acquainted with Ukrainian culture and just have fun. All locations are in the center of the city so it’s quite possible to visit them all in a few hours. Organizers tried to make the program as diverse as possible. This includes karaoke competitions, large-scale exhibitions of contemporary art, film screenings, concerts and even a three-day show of video projections. So here is a list of events which will take place in the capital from April 30 to May 14.
Kyiv Art Week, May 4-7
A large-scale art fair will be held within the framework of the song contest, 23 galleries from 5 countries will participate. Guests of the event will have the opportunity to see the works of world famous artists, among them Pablo Picasso, Helmut Newton, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana and David Hockney. The Museum of the Kyiv History, the National Art Museum of Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko, the National Museum "Kyiv Picture Gallery", the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko, the Ivan Gonchar Museum also will take part in the festival.

International festival Face of art, May 5-14
The International Forum of Contemporary Art will be held in the Kyiv city gallery "Lavra", which is part of the Kyiv-Pechersk Fortress and an architectural monument of the XIX century. Since April 1, there operates an art residence, where artists share ideas and get acquainted with the Kyiv art environment and urban space. As a result of their activities, later their group exhibition named "Amazing Confusion" will be opened. A separate video program, which will include works by authors from Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, will be showed to the visitors. A musical part is also prepared for the guests - the gallery will host jazz and cover bands. In addition, you could attend the festival of theater and light, film screenings, as well as a special program for children.

Festival of video projections Kyiv Light Fest, May 12-14
For three days buildings in the center of Kyiv will be used as a canvas for video installations. Light shows will be performed on the buildings of the River Station, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as on the pedestrian bridge across the Dnipro (Trukhaniv Island). Contests of video-mapping and VJs will also take place within the framework of the festival, and artists from all over the world were invited to participate. The total prize fund is 125 thousand UAH (4 715 USD).

Jamala Concert, May 12
The winner of Eurovision-2016, one of the most popular singers of Ukraine - Jamala - will perform with the most spectacular show in her career. She is going to present her first international album “1944”, which followed her triumph in Stockholm. Decoration managers of “I believe in U” show are the team that created her incredible Eurovision performance which conquered Europe. And most importantly – the grand concert will be held just one day before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Kyiv precisely thanks to Jamala.

Karaoke Festival, April 30 - May 14
Karaoke festival will take place in the Eurovision: Retrospective entertainment zone on the Poshtova Square. Anyone can take part in the competition. Qualifying stages will be held daily from 18:00 to 20:00, finals - from 20:00 to 21:00. Professional jury of pop and rock stars will listen to the contestants. At 21:00 a ceremony of awarding the winners of the day will take place.

Exhibition of Contemporary Artists of Ukraine, April 30 - May 14
An exhibition of modern Ukrainian artists will be held within the framework of the Kyiv Art Fort 2017 plein air in the historical and architectural reserve Kyiv Fortress. A large-scale exposition will be placed on the territory of 1.3 hectares under the open sky. The main topic of the festival is the art between peace and war. In total, more than 60 works of artists from all over Ukraine will be presented.
Location: Kyiv Fortress National Historical and Architectural Museum, 24A Hospitalna St.
In addition to the entertainment zones on Poshtova Square and on the territory of the Kyiv Fortress, from April 30 to May 14, similar locations will operate on Khreshchatyk Street, Sofiivska and Kontraktova squares. At each of these points visitors could attend concerts, fairs, exhibitions and competitions. For the comfort of the guests food courts and recreation areas will also be organized.
This year Eurovision is hosted by our the native town for 112.international – Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
Follow the final of Eurovision 2017 on Saturday May 13, with semi-finals on May 9 and 11.
