Kyiv hospitals lack medical workers to treat those sick with coronavirus. Oleg Ruban, the head of State Service for Supplies and Consumer Policy said so in a commentary for Apnews.
"We need more staff and equipment, not the extra beds at hospitals. The most vital problem is, currently, the lack of doctors. 7,000 medical staff resigned over six months". Ruban said.
According to him, in Kyiv's Oleksandrivsky hospital, the beds for patients sick with coronavirus are full by 98 percent. Meanwhile, the average bed occupancy for such patients in Kyiv's hospitals makes 65 percent. The situation is under control, and it's a normal rate for the capital city; it is supposed to remain until the end of the month.
Similar problems are observed all over Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Kharkiv and several towns and districts of Kharkiv region will be listed in the "red" quarantine zone due to the growing number of Covid-19 cases. Oleksiy Kucher, the governor of Kharkiv region posted on Facebook.
"It's all serious", the head of regional state administration wrote.
According to him, the list of these settlements includes Lyubotyn, as well as Bohodukhivsky, Lozovsky and Pervomaisky districts.
Poltava, central Ukraine, will also join the list of red zone settlements. The number of infected here grows rapidly. Oleg Synegubov, the representative of Poltava regional state administration posted that on Telegram. "Currently, there are almost 2,000 sick people in the city; that's much more than in other cities and districts of the region. More than 100 new cases are observed every day", Synegubov wrote.
