Kyiv plans to join the international Construction Sector Transparency (CoST) initiative on the quality audit of the roads. The Director General of the public corporation Kyivavtodor Olexandr Gustelev claimed this at the briefing as the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
According to him, the negotiations with the international initiative CoST almost finished. This initiative holds the quality audit of the building and efficiency of the application of the funds.
‘The international initiative CoST exists in Ukraine since 2013. Today the capital of Ukraine and Kyivavtodor join this project. CoST is financed by the international institutes and does not sign any financial commitments in Ukraine to make the audit absolutely independent’, Gustelev noted.
Moreover, the schemes of the warranty repair of the roads work in Kyiv during five years.
‘The experience of the fulfillment of the warranty responsibilities by the particular contractors who made some miscounts or other mistakes exists for a few years in Ukraine. The Bazhana Avenue is one of the representative objects where the contractors make the warranty repair at own expense. According to our counts, the cost of the warranty repair at this avenue will make 1.3 million of dollars’, Gustelev noted.
According to him, the same situation takes place at the Pivdenny Bridge.
‘The agreements on the repair exist since the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, the contractor could not start the work because the advice sessions with the foreign institutes took place to specify the nuances of the work. The Institute of Transport of the UK and the famous Swiss expert on Repair and Building of Roads Mr. Heinz Ashliman took part in it. The warranty repair began only after the advice sessions and examination’, he noted.
