The Emergency HQ in Kyiv is going to increase quarantine measures in the Ukrainian capital. Volodymyr Bondarenko, the counselor of Kyiv mayor said so on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
According to the official, currently, Kyiv is between the "yellow" and "black" scenarios of the expected course of events.
"It means that the disease enters a new peak without having even abandoned the previous one", he said.
Bondarenko added that Kyiv is not ready for mitigations of the lockdown that were planned for June 5 and June 10.
"We cannot be talking about opening halls of restaurants; we can't be talking about any mass events with the number of people exceeding one per five square meters. We can't talk about the full-fledged opening of cultural establishments. These things were supposed to take place in Ukraine on June 5", Bondarenko said.
He added that on June 12, the Emergency HQ in Kyiv is about to decide whether the quarantine in the capital will be toughened.
Earlier, Denys Shmygal, the Prime Minister of Ukraine claimed that the quarantine in Ukraine could be boosted if the number of those infected grows critically in ten or more regions of the country.
