Kyiv city council to allocate 150.000 UAH for New Year’s celebration in downtown

Kyiv city administration is to allocate 150.000 UAH (roughly $5,600 USD) for the New Year and Christmas celebrations in Mykhailivska and Sofiivska squares of Kyiv, as Head of the department of culture of the administration Diana Popova told Ukrainska Pravda.

The budget is to be spent on installing the stage, with its sound system and equipment zone, while all the other expenses are to be paid by the organizers of the events and activities.

The official celebration is to last for almost a month: from December 19 to January 14 and will take place in three locations. The main Christmas tree is to be put up in the Sofiivska square at the beginning of December.

Last year about $745.00 in total was spent on the celebration, which was fully funded by sponsors.
