Kyiv City Council asks Verkhovna Rada to create zoo police

Decision is prepared as the response to the e-petition that provides the creation of the separate service that will protect the animals

The councilmen of the Kyiv City Council made a decision on October 5 to appeal to the Verkhovna Rada with an offer to amend the law on National Police, particularly to add it with the point of creation of the zoo police. The proper decision was supported by 77 councilmen as the press service of the City Council reported.

The possibility of the creation of such separate department as the zoo police is not provided by the legislation of Ukraine and it needs the regulation by the legislative acts.

'It is necessary to create the zoo police to protect pets and homeless animals from the violence and prevention of the attacks of the aggressive animals on the people. I note, that the proper decision is prepared as the response to the e-petition that provides the creation of the separate service that will protect the animals', Kyiv Councilman Kostyantyn Yalovy noted.
