An action of solidarity in support of the people of Belarus took place in Kyiv near the Friendship of Peoples Arch. The RBC-Ukraine news agency reports.
More than a hundred people have formed a chain of solidarity. They were dressed in white clothes, some of them put a black ribbon on their clothes as a sign of mourning for the man who died during the protests in Belarus.
Also, the protesters brought white flowers and Belarusian flags with them.
As we reported before, the Belarusian opposition expects that official Kyiv will recognize the opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya as the president of Belarus.
“We expect Lukashenko’s non-recognition and Tikhanovskaya’s recognition - we expect the same from all countries, especially since Ukraine itself went through this ...” Tsepkalo answered a question about the expectations of the Belarusian opposition in relation to Ukraine.
“I think that there were no such monstrous falsifications anyway, when I got 10% and wrote 80%. Nobody considered anything at all, and the observers were not allowed in: neither Belarusian, nor Russian, nor foreign. And journalists are beaten,” noted the politician.
