Kyiv authority calls the government to consider the situation of the city gas supply in the Committee of Emergencies as there is a risk of TPP suspension, which are producing heat and electricity, as the press office of Kyiv City State Administration reports.
It is noted that the situation will get worse from August 1, as the plants will have to be suspended due to the absence of the gas. Petro Panteleev, Deputy’s head of Kyiv City State Administration claimed.
According to him, the situation in Kyiv is nearly critical, as Naftogaz didn’t sign an agreement with Kyivenergo for the gas supply. As a result, several thousand houses are left without water.
‘We have literally come from the office of the head of Naftogaz, as we continue the negotiations. You know the position of the city: we are ready to solve the problem of the debts but not to put it in dependence on the conclusion of the basic agreement. There is a court’s decision, which justifies the position of the city within a legal framework. But we understand that the judicial perspective is a very long way. TPPs have a risk of suspension from August 1, as there are no gas supply contracts,’ Panteleev said.
He called to consider the problem of electricity supply in Kyiv at the meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergencies.
The Vice-Chairman of the Kyiv Administration noted that Kyivenergo has all permissions, tariffs, and licenses needed for management of TPP but the absence of gas is a threat for the vital activity of the city.
