Kurdish group "Freedom Falcons of Kurdistan" has claimed responsibility for the double attack in Istanbul. This is said in a statement published on the website of militants, reports DW.

This group split from the former Kurdistan Workers' Party, in the past it has already committed another acts of terrorism.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on December 11 an extraordinary meeting on security in the country with the participation of a number of government ministers and senior officials.

The explosion near the stadium "Vodafone Arena" (home arena of the Turkish football club "Besiktas") in Istanbul took place in the evening of 10 December and a half hours after the match between "Besiktas" and "Bursaspor". It was reported that a bomp in the car has been undermined by the remote method, and after almost a minute in a nearby park, a suicide bomber blew himself up.

According to the authorities, the vast majority of the victims are the police officers. As a result of explosions 38 people were killed, 155 people were hospitalized, 14 of them are in intensive care unit.
