Kriukiv Railway Car Manufacturing Plant (KVBZ), the largest manufacturer of freight and passenger cars in Ukraine, switched to the purchase of Russian-made components from the beginning of 2021.
This is evidenced by data provided by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, BusinessCensor reports.
Thus, in January 2021, KVBZ imported 655 railway wheels, manufactured by Evraz Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant, from the Russian Federation. This will allow the plant to fully assemble 81 freight cars using Russian products.
In January, the plant produced 32 new freight cars that were equipped with Russian wheels.
As we reported earlier, according to the First Deputy Head of Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Valery Ivashchenko, the creation of the integrated structure on ammo production is one of the ministry's priority tasks.
“The task is very ambitious: Ukroboronprom in the process of transformation should reproduce the technological cycle of the production of ammo in Ukraine,” Ivashchenko noted.
