In Kraków, the park paths would be spread with the coffee ground during ice-slick as in Lviv. The Mayor’s Office appealed to the Polish coffee shops with the offers on cooperation. The Landscaping Unit of Kraków reported on Facebook.
“Inspired by Lviv citizens, we would also like to use coffee ground experimentally spreading it on paths and avenues in one of Kraków’s parks. We ask all coffee shops in Kraków, if they want to participate in this experiment, to contact us,” the unit said.
On February 1, in Park '700th anniversary of Lviv’, the paths were spread with coffee ground. The initiative belongs to the adviser Lviv Mayor Iryna Orshak. According to her, coffee grounds do not harm the soil and can even be useful for green spaces. For now, this initiative will be undergoing experimental trials. They plan to receive coffee grounds free of charge from the city's coffee shops.
