The 79-year-old first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been diagnosed with Covid-19, his press service reports.
"Currently, the First President of Kazakhstan is in self-isolation. Unfortunately, the Elbasy’s (leader of the nation) latest test for coronavirus infection has shown a positive result. There is no cause for concern," the statement said.
The politician continues to fulfill his commitments remotely.
"Unfortunately, the coronavirus has not bypassed our First President. I wish Nursultan Abishevich the quickest recovery. He is a strong man, his whole life is overcoming, so I am sure that he will successfully overcome this challenge," President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wrote on his Twitter page.
As we reported earlier, on June 16, Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska was hospitalized with pneumonia.
“The diagnosis of Olena Zelenska: Covid-19. Nosocomial bilateral polysegmental pneumonia of moderate severity. Level of respiratory disturbance - 0. She does not require an oxygen donation. The condition is stable," the statement said.
