Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has ordered to close all restaurants and shops with the exception of grocery stores and pharmacies due to the spread of the coronavirus, BS News reports.

According to the decree of the prime minister, all commercial activities will be terminated, except for those establishments that sell necessities and food, as well as pharmacies.

"We will close shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. Home delivery is allowed," Conte said in a national television address.

He stressed that there was "no need to rush to buy groceries" because food stores would stay open throughout.

As of now, there are about 10,590 active coronavirus cases in Italy.

As we reported earlier, that has been a significant increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Italy. The Country's coronavirus death toll went from 366 to 463 on Monday.

"We are having an important growth in infection... and of deaths," Italia's PM added.

On March 11, Ukraine made a decision to stop air communication with Italy.
