The government of Italy considers the possibility of the extension of the emergency state due to the growth of Covid-19 infection, as Ansa reported.

The term of the current emergency state ends on October 15; however, the epidemiologists recommend to extend it.

Besides, the Justice Minister of Italy offered to hold a telethon to convince the Italians to use the Immuni app. The application monitors contacts between people and warns users who vulnerable to coronavirus infection.

The emergency state was announced in Italy in January. Italy became the first country in Europe that imposed the emergency state.

According to Worldometers, Italy is in 19th place in the world and in 5th in Europe according to the spread of the Covid-19. As of October 1, 314,000 cases of infection observed in the country; over 35,000 lethal cases; 227,000 patients recovered.

As we reported, the government of Slovakia approved the introduction of the emergency state due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The emergency state starts to act on October 1.
