“P681H strain has started to appear in the samples of biofluids of patients approximately in November 2020; however the traces of its existence could be found in the samples of wastewater collected in October. This mutation, supposedly, accelerate spread of the coronavirus of the new type, not making it more viable to antibodies. Supposedly, it does not enhance symptoms of infection,” the message said.
As we reported, India detected a new “double mutant variant” of the novel coronavirus, the health ministry said, adding to concern as the government struggles with the highest single-day tally of new infections and deaths this year.
