The militants of the Islamic State terrorist group attacked the US military base in Iraq, Reuters reports citing its own sources.
Two suicide bombers blew up their explosive vests and died. Three more attackers were killed by Kurdish Peshmerga squads, which control the area of the military facility.
The attackers were dressed as Kurds, so that they could not be identified.
As a result of the attack, two Kurdish rebels were killed and six others were injured.
Earlier ISIS officially took the responsibility for the attack on NATO convoy in Kabul, Afghanistan, which occurred on early May 2.
According to Amaq, ‘a suicide bomber detonated an explosives-rigged car as the convoy passed an area near the U.S. embassy, killing eight American soldiers’.
Previously, the media reported four fatalities in the blast; at least 22 more were wounded.
