The terrorists made a brief statement in which they confirmed the information about the death of their leader, al-Baghdadi and added that they would soon announce the name of his successor. This was reported by Al-Sumaria TV channel with reference to an anonymous source in the Iraqi province of Nineveh.
The source explained that the statement of ISIS was expected after two days ago in Tel Afar militants lifted a ban on making public information about the death of al-Baghdadi. Earlier, the punishment for spreading rumors about the death of ISIS leader was 50 lashes.
The interlocutor added that terrorists’ statement did not disclose the details al-Baghdadi's death.
As it was reported earlier nearly 200 suspects in connections with ISIS were detained in Turkey. During the special operations, Turkish law enforcers seized documents, weapons and ammunition, as well as prevented a series of terrorist attacks.
