Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi wrote a letter of resignation due to ongoing anti-government protests in the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Aljazeera media outlet reports.

A meeting of the Iraqi parliament is scheduled for today, at which officials will decide on the Mahdi by voting.

As we reported, the number of victims of clashes during anti-government protests in Iraq has risen to 100.

It is noted that at least six police officers are among the dead. The number of victims approached 4 000 people. In Baghdad hospitals, there are 1,600 protesters.
