Due to attempts to implement censorship by imposing sanctions on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, possible opening criminal cases for announcing Oliver Stone’s documentary on air, immediate risk of death and health of journalists resulting from numerous threats from the representatives of the radical groups and committed terror attack against the TV channel, which is the most important, the International Editorial Board of the 112 Ukraine TV channel was forced to convene an extraordinary meeting and to adopt the following resolution:

  1. The International Editorial Board of the 112 Ukraine TV channel condemns the facts of introducing illegal censorship, unprecedented pressure on the TV channel by right-wing organizations and believes, which resulted in second to none up to now intimidation act - shelling the building of the TV channel from a grenade launcher. The Editorial Board believes that the attempts to stop its activity of the 112 Ukraine TV channel are the consequences of the general unsatisfactory situation with respect for freedom of speech in Ukraine. Ukrainian and Western human rights organizations, politicians, government officials and independent media experts have repeatedly drawn attention to this.
  2. The International Editorial Board is surprised by the actions and statements of certain representatives of the Ukrainian authorities,as well as by the lack of proper reaction to the threats from the radicals by the relevant law enforcement agencies, especially taking into account the fact that threats and actions of the radical groups pose a direct threat to the lives of journalists. In case of further ignoring the situation with the protection of rights of journalists in Ukraine, the International Editorial Board intends to intensify the contacts with foreign diplomatic institutions and organizations on protection of the rights of journalists in order to introduce the issue of violation of freedom of speech in Ukraine into the agenda of the above mentioned organizations.
  3. The International Editorial Board confirms that apart from the repeated threats by the radicals, the active cause of the latest accidents was the planned screening of the documentary by the famous American director Oliver Stone, in spite the fact that the film is scheduled to be screened in another 70 countries of the world.
  4. Taking into account the committed terrorist attack, the existing threat to live and health of journalists and the feasibility of the threats by the head of the Nebaiduzhi organization Serhiy Sternenko, the actual disengagement of the Ukrainian government from the protection of the TV channel and the inability to fully protect the rights of journalists in the event of sanctions against the 112 Ukraine TV channel, the International Editorial Board strongly recommends that the team of the 112 Ukraine TV channel refrains from screening Oliver Stone's "Revealing Ukraine".
