A new strain of coronavirus is detected in the UK. They called it VUI as the Public Health England reported.
The first two cases were observed in the UK on March 4, among people who recently visited Antigua. Another three cases were detected in South Gloucestershire and one more in West Yorkshire Urban Area. The total number of cases of the new coronavirus strain in the UK is ten – seven in England and three in Scotland.
The experts checked people who had close contacts with those infected with the new strain and did not detect other cases of infection.
As we reported, first cases of the ‘British’ strain of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine. Two positive results were reported in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Meanwhile, US scientists warned of the possible dangers of three new strains of coronavirus. According to scientists, new variants may already be more transmissible and could also be somewhat resistant to the vaccine.
