In the US in the city of Charleston, an armed man took about 30 people hostage in a restaurant, Fox News reported citing the mayor of the city.
"The shooter is a disgruntled employee, this is not an act of terrorism or a hate crime," Mayor John Tecklenberg said at a news conference.
It is noted that a man wounded one person, he was hospitalized.
The police cordoned off the area around the restaurant.
Eyewitnesses said that the criminal - an elderly African American in an apron and with a revolver in his hand - left the kitchen of the restaurant, said that in Charleston there is "a new cheriff now", and ordered guests to get out. According to them, he looked "like an ordinary grandfather, but he was insane," the local newspaper Post and Courier of Charleston reports.
