Journalist Vlashchenko attacked in Ukraine's Mykolaiv, hospitalized with eyesburns, bruises

Ukrainian journalist of News-N website Oleksander Vlashchenko was attacked in Mykolaiv on November 30 at around 22:30. He was hospitalized, as news agency reports.

The attack occurred near the entrance of his apartment. Vlashchenko was returning home when a man approached him and sprayed him in the face with a pepper spray. After that, he was punched several times in the face. He does not remember how many attackers were there. They did not touch the victim’s money.

Oleksander had the strength to go up to the apartment, from where his relatives called the police and an ambulance. An ambulance doctor diagnosed a lesion of the mucous membranes of the eyes, oral cavity, and trachea with an unknown substance, as well as traumatic damage to the lower lip. Injury, according to the doctor, requires surgical intervention. An ambulance took the victim to the hospital.

Investigators began criminal proceedings on the grounds of "Intentional minor bodily harm", the sanction of the article provides for punishment from a fine to correctional labor for up to one year.

The primary investigative actions are ongoing and measures are being taken to identify and detain the person involved in the commission of the crime.

All circumstances and motives of the crime are established.
