In 2019, almost 3,500 people died in road accidents in Ukraine

About 40% of the car accidents take place due to the speeding

1,096,234 road accidents with affected people took place in Ukraine since the beginning of independence. Totally, 1,274,579 people were injured and 175,216 died as 112 Ukraine TV channel reported citing Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko.

“About 40% of the car accidents in which our fellow citizens and guests of Ukraine get injured or died. Since 2014, the gradual reduction of the number of deaths on the roads of Ukraine takes place; however, it is still high relative to European countries,” he said.

Herashchenko also noted that in 2019, 3,454 died on the Ukrainian roads.

As we reported, a dust storm in the Kyiv region led to a road accident in the Kyiv region. Six cars, including four vans and two light-duty vehicles, crashed on the roadway that links Kyiv, Kovel, and Yahodyn. The accident resulted in human casualties.
