The police helicopter crew patrolling the emergency zone near Klymivka found a body of a man in the field in Poland, on the border with Belarus, the police of Podlaskie Voivodeship reports on Thursday, October 14 on Twitter.

Law enforcement officers, referring to preliminary data, noted that it was the body of a man who had previously lived in Belarus. In particular, this is evidenced by the documents that lay next to the deceased.

"Documents indicate that this is a 24-year-old Syrian who was previously in Belarus," said the representative of the Podlasie police Tomasz Krupa, according to PAP.

This person received a visa on September 15.

The Polish prosecutor's office has launched an investigation to find out the causes and circumstances of the man's death. The previous hypothesis of the course of event was an accidental death.

This is the fifth illegal immigrant found dead near the Polish-Belarusian border.

As it was reported earlier, Poland wants to permanently fortify its border with Belarus. The barbed wire on the border with Belarus will be replaced by a permanent fortification. The relevant project was approved by the Polish government on October 12.
