Ukrainian MP Serhiy Shakhov spoke to the press and shared the story how he got infected with the Chinese coronavirus. He also confirmed his wife's diagnosis. This and more became known during the video briefing that he held on his Facebook page.
"Three days that I spent in Switzerland - that's from March 7 till March 10 in the evening do not leave such opportunity (to get infected, - 112 International). How come the virus can mutate over three days? At first, they said the incubation period was 14 days; and now it took three days to get things done. I got infected in Ukraine, and I have no doubts about that", Shakhov said.
He also reported that friends, relatives and even voters complained, saying they felt bad, and yet the test results for influenza proved negative. Shakhov is convinced it is a sure sign of coronavirus.
According to him, 79 people are now self-isolated, including the officials whom he contacted. Their test tesults are not ready for now. His wife is the only one among the relatives who got sick. Currently, both feel fine, except for the cough that holds; body temperature jumps are sometimes observed as well (up to 38 degrees by Celsius).
Shakhov assured the press that coronavirus is not a plague, so there's no need to boost extra panic. He urged other infected people to update the medics on their health conditions every day and promised to do so, too.
