Nadiya Savchenko’s portrait has appeared on the 27-meter-high wall of a grain elevator in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhya.
The mural, the brainchild of artist Valeriy Dzygalo, was painted by local youth in Zaporizhya. Organizers hope to expand their artistic project. Soon, the words of the national anthem and portraits of Ukrainian captives Oleh Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko are likely to appear on other walls around the city.
Earlier Kyiv marked Savchenko’s birthday with a flash mob on Poshtova square
On March 22, a Russian court sentenced Savchenko to 22 years in prison for involvement in the deaths of two Russian journalists in the Donbas warzone
