Hostage-taking in Kyiv: Court chooses measure of restraint for Sukhrob Karimov

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint for Sukhrob Karimov who seized Leonardo Business Center. This was reported by 24 Channel TV channel.

The terrorist was taken into custody for two months without an alternative to bail.

As we reported earlier, on August 3, a man came to a branch of JSC Universal bank at Leonardo Business Center in Kyiv and said that he had an explosive device in his bag.

Later, the hostage-taker released all people from the bank, expect the head of the bank who stayed with him on his own initiative.

The man was asking for a personal meeting with journalists and 40,000 hryvnias (1,440 dollars).

It turned out that the hostage-taker was a citizen of Uzbekistan of the 1988 year of birth.

Eventually, the perpetrator was neutralized and apprehended. The hostage remained unharmed.  

Prosecutor's office of Kyiv opened a criminal case under Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Act of terrorism").

It is worth noting that the terrorist was given an opportunity to go live on TV.
