At least six people lost their lives due to Herwart storm, which occurred in the Central Europe. A 63-year-old man drowned in Lower Saxony, Germany, while camping on the seashore; a motor boat with three people aboard turned over in Mecklenburg, killing one. Another four victims were reported in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Road and railway traffic is heavily limited; many trains were cancelled.
According to German weather experts, the wind speed reached 176 kilometers per hour – that’s much stronger than Xavier hurricane which battered Germany in early October; the storm is expected to calm down on Monday.
