Chief Sanitary Inspector of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko stated that the herd immunity from coronavirus might be formed by vaccination as Ukraine 24 reported.

“To create herd immunity, at least 95% of people should go through. We have the strategy of containment…The number of infected does not surpass 1% that is why we cannot say that we will form herd immunity,” Lyashko said.

At the same time, he believes that the forming of herd immunity by having an illness is the medieval approach. All countries refused from it, even Sweden, which intended to follow this way but recognized its incorrectness later.

“We will talk about herm immunity when the vaccine appears,” Lyashko underlined.
